Hey dad!

Thanks for the update on things! I new companion is awesome he only has 3 months in the mission but is pumped up to work hard!! He helps me stay on top on things with waking up to studying! He is from Colombia but... lives in Ecuador! He is crazy!!! But we are working hard we had a baptism this Sat I will send you a pic!

Mother,

This week has been a really exhausting week. I am now, not Zone Leader. I am now with a companion that has 3 months in the mission. His name is Elder SanJuan. He is from Colombia but lives in Ecuador. He is a really good person. The area that we are in is ok. It is on a big huge hill and the whole area is on a great big incline! But we had a baptism this Saturday which was awesome! Her name is Evelyn!! And this Saturday we have 2 more baptisms. We are so pumped for this month and the next month. I am still getting to know the area and the members but the ward is awesome. They will help us.. I hope.. But This week not much has happened just the transfers and all.

I am alive and well trying to find a gym or something to do in my house to get fit. I think I have found something so we will see!!

Transfer

Hey mom!
Yes I got transfered. Well tomorrow I will be transfered. The mission is doing something different with all the transfers now instead of doing a big huge reunion they are now just calling us now and telling us where they want us to go. And they called me last night and told me that i will be traveling alone to my new stake center.
This week has been really good for me a little sad that I have to leave my area. I love the people here. There really is not much to tell you but just wanted you to know that I am well and alive and I can't believe that time has passed
Hope all is well! I was recently studying a part of the Bible in John where some disciples are asking Christ where He lives and He says, Come and see.
I love this part it really shows that Chirst invites everyone to come and see if they want to.

Lima and a Baptism

Hey MOM!!

This week has been a blast better than the last week for sure! Well to start off the week we went to Lima with the Zone! It was so stressfull! I had to make sure that everyone was staying together. But we had tons of fun! I will send some pictures of what we did!! But after that we had 2 trainings that were mind blowers from the President! It always is awesome to learn from him! I still havent been transfered yet. That changes are this coming week. I wonder where I will go!

Also we have been teaching these two families that I was telling you about last time. Well they both are progressing really well. With the family that is already married we did a Family Night last night and it went really well. Yesterday also we brought them their own Books of Mormon. They are always coming to church and are excited to make the change in their lives.

The other family. They are progressing little by little. Yesterday we talked with them and we were able to take our there IDs to help them get married. Here to get married you have to do a copy of your ID and then go to the town center and go through a bunch of hoops and tunnels to get them registered for the next marriage.

We also had a baptism this weekend! I will send a bunch of pictures dont you worry!

Quick Note

I don't have much time to write about my week. Just a little note. We are helping 2 families right now and they are progressing really well. One family in married and the other wants to get married. The ones that aren't married want to get baptized. We are working hard here in the zone. I still am ZL and we will see what happens this change. Today we are going to Lima to visit around the stores to see what I can buy :) Hope you are well!

Unity in the Zone

Hey mother,
I would like to share with you a little about our week here in the zone. Me and my companion and working soo hard to help everyone reach there goals!! It was kind of stressing me out until yesterday when the assistants to the President came and help us sort out a few nicks. Now our only desire is help one another and the zone.
I am also learning the value of unity in the zone and also in your companionship. Those two things can drive a team anywhere they want to go. I have been really able to see that a lot here and see it put in practice. Hope that we can keep this energy up!! I don't have much time left here in this area. Yesterday the assistants basically told me that I was going to leave this transfer....but without really telling me. Elder Nielson, one of the assistants told me something that really motivated me a lot! He told me, ¨´ Elder Spencer I want to tell you what the president said about you the other day he said, ´´´´ I don't have to worry about Elder Spencer. I know he runs a tight ship there in his Zone´´´´ I am not saying to raising myself above others, no,  but that made me feel really good that he told me that.
Hope all is well and can't wait to receive my birthday package! LOVE YOU ALL!!

What I am Learning

Mother,

This week has been really strange... So many weird things have happened--so many things that is is hard to remember them all. But I will try my best. I am learning a lot here in the mission. I have been able to break out of my shell and stand for what is right. With the Peruvian people and the missionaries that are here in the mission, I have learned how to keep a cool head in the heat of adversity. I have learned patience. I have learned how to communicate so that they understand. I have learned the importance of the Atonement of Christ. I have learned the importance of his ministry. I have learned compassion and love. I have learned that the scriptures are the gateway to a healthy life with Christ. I have learned the power of prayer. I have learned that the Spirit wants me to learn so many things. I have learned that God is not far from us but is with us. I have learned how to put my trust in Him. I have learned that when there are problems there always is a solution.  I have learned how to put off my personal desires to complete the desires of others. I have learned how to care for everyone. What I have learned you can only learn here.
This Christmas we are going have a Christmas activity as a mission! It should be fun... I hope! We will see. I hope all is well with you all I know and I have learned that God is looking after you all. I know we can receive His guidance if we do what is right! I will be emailing you guys next week to coordinate the Christmas call that we have all been waiting for!!

Challenges

Mother,

This week has been a roller coaster. It has been filled with the Spirit and filled with disappointments. Well to start off the week we were teaching really well and all was well in our zone. We were finding people to teach and we were doing interviews and everything was just great! Come around Thursday we arrive to our apartment and we get a call from one of our district leaders. And he says that we need to come over ASAP! So we grab the keys and go down the stairs in our complex, go out to the main avenue, and grab a taxi. We arrive at the house that is about 6 min away form our house. We arrive to the apartment, we sit down and ask them what is wrong. We look at the district leader and then we looks at his companion. He tells us, " Don't look at me. He is the one you need to talk to," pointing to his companion. So we start talking with his companion and his comp starts telling us the weirdest thing I have ever heard in my life. He starts off my telling us that he had a vision. And that he had seen the"Eternity". We asked him a little bit more and then is just got weirder. He started telling us that after he saw that, that during the lessons he could control time and obligate the people to accept the Gospel through the Spirit. But he told us that he couldn't do it because he understood Agency. We gave him a blessing and called the President.

The next day we had to go to the offices and he just got crazier. We talked with the asistentes and with a psychologist and the president. And they all said that he can't be here. So they sent him home.

It was really sad to see. He only had 3 months in the mission.
